In case you missed the news, as of August 1st, 2012, Google Website Optimizer will no longer be available as a standalone product.
Changes like this aren’t new in the world of Google (I still lament the killing of the Google Wonder Wheel). However, the capabilities of Google Website Optimizer, which has been used by an enormous amount of Internet markets and digital publishers, will not be put to rest.

As Google states in an email, “if you’re looking to start a new experiment, please use our new tool, located within Google Analytics called Content Experiments.” After establishing Content Experiments, the tool is designed to provide the user with website engagement reports.
It’s clear that Google is putting effort into making Analytics a much more comprehensive tool. And in the same time, getting more website professionals to sign up for Analytics.

Hi Chris some things changed with the new tool. No multivariate testing, 2 weeks delay on results, max 5 variations, max 12 tests and max 3 month testing. So lots of changes… for the worst. But it is now easier to split URL test so that is a pro.
