What are some external examples of “Mequoda websites”?

[question]When you reference a certain site being a “Mequoda website” are you referencing only the sites you’ve built over the past several years?[/question]

[answer]This is a question we often get asked. And our answer would be no. In fact what we often look for when we’re doing research is a publisher who’s following what we call the Mequoda Principles – and of course they may or may not call it that. Agora is a great example with their Daily Reckoning and Early to Rise websites. They existed before Mequoda was a thing, before it was even a concept being described.

Where the Mequoda Method came from early on back in 2003–2004 was us observing what other successful publishers like Agora were doing online and trying to set up this set of principles. It’s evolved over time now when you look at any of the 18 websites that we’ve built, we followed these principles pretty strenuously but even then we’ve got 18 different publishing companies out there, all privately owned businesses.

They’re all staffed by human beings and they will all follow the best practices in different ways and to different degrees.
