Women’s Wear Daily reports that two major names in magazine publishing will be devoting more resources to digital.
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, ForbesLife will launch a website and app in September, while Men’s Health is producing a digital World Cup edition.
“The site is sort of a luxury visual master class, and that lends itself particularly well to native,” ForbesLife Publisher Charles Yardley told WWD. “We are starting to see the shift in luxury spending to digital.”
The magazine will add staff and hire 100 to 150 new contributors.
Men’s Health‘s app, meanwhile, will offer shoppable ads, feature a GPS that shows where matches are screening, host video and audio content, and even provide “club-specific cheers in local languages – just in case you need to cheer in Dutch.”
