Many users of popular social networks utilize different tools to make social media more effective, and more efficient.

For instance, when I first started using Twitter professionally, I downloaded TweetDeck.

I was a fan of TweetDeck for a long time. It provided me with a dashboard for easy tweeting and I was able to customize it as well. In addition to the messages I sent and the messages from my friends, I was able to keep an eye on direct messages, keywords that were trending and any other hashtag I wanted to track. In this process, I ended up filling in all the hashtags based on keyword phrases that are important to our business.

The only reason I decided to switch from TweetDeck was its inability to schedule Tweets in advance. This led me to HootSuite, where I’ve been happy ever since.
