Digital Convergence Technologies Inc. names CRO; Meredith and Interview Magazine name new multiplatform editors
Today we’re sharing stories of new hirings, including multiplatform editors. First, we begin with a story from Publishing Executive on the new CRO at Digital Convergence Technologies Inc.
“Digital Convergence Technologies Inc. (DCT Inc ) has appointed Tim Murphy as its Chief Revenue Officer. Tim has over 20 years of publishing expertise and has built business teams and business structures that drive top and bottom line growth. This was often done with a focus on creating new revenue streams and efficient work structures that tie to both short and long term strategic goals. In his new role he will be developing relationships with existing and prospective clients, tapping into new potential markets and steering the US sales efforts of the organization.”
“Prior to joining DCT Inc Murphy worked at CRM software provider Vantage Production, where he served as EVP of Sales, and Sourcemedia, where he served as Group Publisher and oversaw all facets of five different business units. While at Sourcemedia he was a digital evangelist that helped lead the company’s transition from legacy print to digital media.”

The news release continues with a look at Murphy’s past experience. “Be it driving cohesive brand positioning across all forms of media, or consulting with decision makers to help them understand risks and leverage opportunities offered by ever-new marketing technologies and strategies, he has helped organizations make sound decisions and helped them achieve their business goals.”
We now move to Meredith, which has news on new editors. AdWeek reports, “Traditional Home has a new editor in chief in Jill Waage, who takes over for Ann Omvig Maine, who retires after 15 years at the helm of Traditional Home and 35 years at Meredith. Waage arrives at Traditional Home from another Meredith title, Better Homes & Gardens, where she was editorial director of digital content and products.”
“Jennifer Darling is also moving into an EIC role, at Allrecipes magazine. She replaces Cheryl Brown, who moved over to Family Circle earlier this month to serve as EIC there. Most recently, Darling had been editorial director for Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications. She also has experience with Meredith’s food-based offerings, having previously worked on the Recipe.com site and Better Homes & Gardens Must-Have Recipes app for the organization.”
“James A. Baggett moves from his position as editor of Meredith title Country Gardens to a garden editor position at Better Homes & Gardens, where he’ll be responsible from topics that include the requisite gardening, as well as landscaping and outdoor living.”
Interview Magazine also has a new editor in chief, reports WWD. “Nick Haramis, articles editor at T: The New York Times Styles Magazine, will take over as editor in chief, reporting to editorial director Fabien Baron, and creative director Karl Templer. The position has been vacant since Keith Pollock left last fall to oversee digital at Architectural Digest.”
“Before joining T in 2013, Haramis was editorial director at Bullett Magazine and, prior to that, executive editor of Blackbook.”
