Hearst gave the free weekly magazine TrendingNY a chance in September with four test issues that were distributed throughout New York City by street teams. Apparently this strategy paid off as the publisher announces that it will continue publishing the magazine in April.

The same strategy will be used, but this time the product will be a bit different. According to an article from Folio, the magazine will be printed on heavier paper stock and its circulation size will double to 100,000.

It’s reported that positive feedback is leading to the continuation of this project. “The company says it received glowing feedback from its first test, and expects similar results in the second trial. It asks its readers of Millennial women to provide real-time feedback so it can gauge interest and make product adjustments.”

The magazine is currently working with high-end advertisers due to its audience. These advertisers include Banana Republic, Macy’s, and Bloomingdales, among others.
