Time Inc.’s Fortune and Money have officially split from CNNMoney.com, and each is publishing a new website, according to TechCrunch.
The move was precipitated by Time Inc’s own split from Time Warner.
“It’s been something that we’ve been kind of itching to do for a while,” Money’s Craig Matters told TechCrunch. “For Fortune and Money to not really have robust digital brands might have been okay in 2005, but it’s less okay once you’re out of the oughts.”
Both magazines are hiring as they escalate their editorial schedules. Money will post 20 to 30 pieces of content daily, while Fortune will go as high as 90.
