You probably already know that millennials are big into using their smartphones to access the web. However, their ability to do so may be surprising to some.
Any digital publisher whose audience consists of millennials should recognize this data being offered by Mitek and Zogby Analytics. eMarketer reports on the findings. “Among US millennial smartphone users polled, nearly 90% said their phones never left their side—both night and day—and 80% admitted they instantly reached for them right when they woke up.”
Another important piece of information to know is that 86% of respondents reported that “there are still a lot of websites that don’t offer good mobile functionality.” We’ve seen some major publishers redesign websites recently with adaptive website design in mind. Meredith is one major publisher who has relaunched websites to be more mobile friendly. Perhaps this report will spur over digital publishers to look at their mobile design and functionality more closely.
