Lets pretend that you run Boaters Monthly Magazine. We have a budding subscription base in Southern California and we’d like to connect with more people in that geographic area. By using Tweepz you can search for people living in San Diego that have the keyword “boats” somewhere in their profile.
Because Tweepz will let you search for terms in Twitter profiles, you can get targeted lists of people that share your interests.
Tweepz allows you to search by the following criteria:
- By location
- Keyword terms & phrases
- Search within peoples’ Twitter profiles for terms and phrases. ( This is very useful)
- Adjacent words using the search operator NEAR e.g. love NEAR travel
- A specific name e.g. name: John
- And any combination of these search operators.
Tweepz lets you sort your search results by # of Followers, # Following and join date. They even let you refine your search further. You can include or exclude people by the number of people they are following and the number of people that follow them. They even let you refine your search by language.
Tweepz also lets you create RSS feeds of your searches so you can follow up and look for new people that fit your search criteria in the future.
It’s time to get creative and start searching. If you have had success connecting with new people by using Tweepz let me know in the comments.
